Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN - Stepdown Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, Holiday Rotation Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Not specified Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Travel experience required Job Description: - Opportunity for skilled RN in a stepdown Progressive Care Unit. - Expectations include competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. - Successful completion of a pass/fail Simulation Lab is mandatory, focusing on sterile field maintenance. - Additional educational training includes lifts, restraints, and wound care. - COVID vaccine required, unless a declination form is provided with clergy or MD documentation. - Unit accommodates 18 beds with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4. - Uses Cerner electronic medical records system. - Support available from charge nurses and PCT/Nursing Aides on all shifts. - Night shift hospitalist or intensivist presence with ED physician response for emergencies. - Teams are responsible for drawing labs. - Common patient cases involve telemetry and medical/surgical needs, including neurology, cardiology, urology, and more. - No involvement with cath lab, CVOR, or invasive neurology surgeries. - Floating may be required to related departments or sister facilities. - Navy scrubs are the designated attire.
