  • A hospital in Arizona is looking for an experienced Couplet nurse for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience and hold an active BLS, NRP and AZ license or compact. Travelers could float to the sister facility, Chandler Regional to postpartum.
  • Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Our typical patients consist of Vaginal deliveries, C/section deliveries, some may be on Mag sulfate, antibiotics, hypertensive meds.

    • 2 years of experience
    • Active BLS, NRP and AZ license or compact
      • Schedule Information
      • Weekend Requirement: For FT staff we require 3 weekend shifts, which is Friday and Saturday night for Night Shift and one Sunday on a 4 week schedule.
      • Holidays: Travelers to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NY)
      • Shifts: We do 12 hour shifts, for nights it is 7pm-0730am
      • Floating: The Couplet nurses do not float, unless they are competent in other units. Travelers may need to float cross campus to Chandler Regional postpartum if needed.

        • Unit: Couplet Care
        • # beds: 22-30 Postpartum Beds
        • Ratios: Typically 3:1 Couplets, 4:1 with a PCT
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Charge Nurse: There is a Charge nurse in Couplet that manages the shift, she does not typically have an assignment.
        • Nurse Aides: Typically we do not staff a PCT, but on occasion if we need to staff at 4:1 then we will have a PCT
        • Tele: No
        • Vents: No
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, we have an OB hospitalist in house 24/7, and Pediatrician coverage/oncall 24 hours.
        • IV Team: No, the nurses do their own IV starts.
        • RT 24/7: YES, they are available 24/7.
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Pharmacy is available 24/7
          • Additional Details
          • COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.
          • A pass/fail Sim Lab is required on Day 1 of orientation (study guides provided with first day instructions).
          • First to float, could float to sister facility, Chandler Regional
